about
you’ve found sprinklefingers!
your kitchen will never be the same…i promise.
sprinklefingers is written, researched and loved by jami curl - owner of saint cupcake - a little bakery in drizzly portland, oregon.
sprinklefingers has a few simple goals:
- to prove that you can replace a lot of the processed foods you buy with food you make yourself.
- to prove that your freezer is the most underutilized kitchen tool you possess.
- to prove that the combination of meal planning, making your own food & canning it OR stowing it away in your magical freezer will make you a happier, healthier, smarter and more magical person. (okay, maybe that’s pushing it a little bit. but you WILL learn that cooking food yourself & freezing it when you can will save you more money & time than you ever imagined. honest.)
of course it’s not ALL about making things now to eat later - there’s lots of other interesting bits sprinkled in here & there: food science, experiments, internet findings and more.
don’t worry, i don’t expect you to be as nerdy as i am about baking your own english muffins and crackers - but if you’ve made it this far, i’m going to take a guess and say you’re at least interested - and that’s enough for me.
one note: this is not a photography blog. you know how some of your favorite cookbooks only feature photos of a few of the dishes within? that’s what sprinklefingers is like. besides, i cook to eat…i don’t cook to photograph it.
